Shaunté Lauren is a self taught artist. She has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. Since she was a small child, she's had a love for animals. When she wasn't at the lake with family and friends, or swimming in the pool, she was observing animals around her and collecting National Geographic magazines to study the anatomy of wildlife.
In her early twenties she finally decided to try her hand at acrylic paints. From there she went on to paint murals for homes, businesses and her local School District. Shaunté was always intrigued by oil paints and it wasn't until 2014 that she did her first oil painting. She immediately fell in love with oils and they have since been her main media.
Shaunté and her husband Scott, currently live in Idaho. In 2016 they moved to Phoenix Arizona for two years which had a huge impact on her art career. There she met life long friends and mentors who have a great influence in her career. In 2018 Shaunté was contacted by Images Arizona Magazine who wrote a beautiful article on her and put her on their cover for their June 2018 issue. That same month she was taken on for representation with Faust Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona and Santa Fe.
She continues to push her talent and believes in the importance of always growing your knowledge of art. She hopes to portray human emotions within the animals of her work, causing viewers to connect with her pieces.
